How do I find my IP address for a webcam?

Question from John A:
The webcam software requires my ip address to set up. It requires my ip address to view from. Where do find my IP?

    run ipconfig.exe
    OR
    Start…Settings…Network Connections
    …Double click on your internet connection
    …Choose Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) in the pulldown and click on properties.

    The box type cmd and hit enter to display your external ip when you are using switch or router that servers as dhcp server.
