Find My IP Address
Blog

This video will show you how to change your internet IP Address using a broadband connection and a Linksys Router. This tutorial is only for changing an IP Address behind a Router. This will not change your IP Address you have a direct connection to the internet. If you would like more information on how to change your IP Address without the Linksys Router, see my other video titled “How To Change Your IP Address Using BroadBand”.

I believe the key in this video is having a d-link router.

Me too, did you ever fix this?

Calm down, command prompt doesn’t work for everyone.

I did some research and on my ISP’s website they claim I have a dynamic IP but when I follow the exact steps in this video I wait 3 minutes and my ip doesn’t renew. Also I have Firmware Version v1.02.2, Jun. 7, 2007. The connect/disconnect buttons are replaced with “DCHP release/renew”.

Can I get my ISP (RoadRunner) to issure me a dynamic IP instead of a static IP? Do I just call them and tell them.

Also I heard dynamic IPs are bad for Bit Torrents, is this true?
